The Market LHTX Celebrates All Things Local, All Things Liberty Hill!
April 5, 2025
Once a month from May to September, the former VFW lot on Main Street and Myrtle Lane downtown will be… well, thumping.

“As The Market LHTX looks for a new home to accommodate their growth, the Liberty Hill Economic Development Corporation (LHEDC) is so excited to have them utilize and activate the former VFW lot on Main Street and Myrtle Lane this season for their Sunset Markets, which we hope will encourage more folks to come and explore downtown,” said LHEDC project manager Yvonne Castillo.
A rotation of 160 vendors will be found displaying a tempting array of baked goods, local eggs and beef, gourmet pickles, BBQ sauce, teas, and honey. If that’s not enough to test your willpower, try resisting the handcrafted jewelry, beauty products, artesian woodworking, metalwork, boutique clothing and custom creations.
All things local. All things Liberty Hill. Welcome to The Market LHTX!
“The Market LHTX adds incredible value to our community in so many ways. It gives people a place to gather, enjoy an event, and support local vendors from Liberty Hill and nearby areas,” said Castillo. “It’s inspiring, especially in a town like ours, where everyone really wants to support one another. We’re always working to make our community a place where people can Live, Work, and Play, and The Market LHTX is a valuable part of creating that environment for our community.”
A Sense of CommUNITY

What also makes The Market LHTX unique is the way they roll out the welcome mat for budding young entrepreneurs like Joyful Bead Co. and TP Lip Gloss.
“Over the last three seasons, we’ve had over 30 young entrepreneurs set up shop at The Market LHTX, with several returning as their businesses grow,” said founder Nancy Wilk. “The feedback we’ve received has been so positive. These young business owners are grateful to have a welcoming community that feels like family. The connections being created are life changing as they soak up the mentorship from experienced vendors and organizers but also the opportunity for peer-to-peer education, and learning from other young entrepreneurs who are walking a similar path. It’s inspiring to see them build confidence, refine their skills, and take pride and accountability in their businesses.”
Vendors embrace the idea of giving their own kids an opportunity to work alongside them, too.
“One of the biggest things my daughters have learned is that hard work and dedication can turn a dream into reality,” said Amy Padilla, owner of The Treat Box TX and Market LHTX board member. “They’ve seen that running a business isn’t just about making a great product, it’s about customer service, problem solving and putting in the work to make every experience a good one. I love that they get to grow up seeing the value of small business and what it takes to make it work.”
Market LHTX operates under the umbrella of Foundation XXL Hope, the non-profit that was founded by Wilk’s two sons, Dylan and Kyle.
“Our desire to make our world a better place is fueled by our faith and our calling to serve. It's that simple! It’s about creating a space where people feel supported, inspired, and part of something bigger, but also keeping our ‘Small Town with a Big Heart’ alive and well as we grow!” said Wilk.
Serving the community. Serving the Lord. Both have remained essential for Wilk, who was voted Best Community Volunteer of 2024 by the community of Liberty Hill.
It Isn’t Just About Shopping…

The value that Market LHTX brings to the community goes far beyond savoring a sweet treat.
“The feedback I’ve heard has been nothing but positive. People love walking around, checking out all the different vendors, and enjoying the live music. I always hear things like, ‘I hope that vendor is there next time, I can't wait to go back and get more!’” said Castillo. “It makes me so happy to hear. It’s clear that The Market LHTX has become a place people look forward to, and it really brings people together in our community.”
The beloved event has become one that many look forward to and few miss.
“It’s been amazing to watch our little market grow right along with our little town. What started as a small space for local makers has grown into a place where we see new faces every time and that creates even more opportunities for businesses and the community to connect,” said Padilla. “And with our new downtown location for our Sunset Markets, our partnership with the Liberty Hill Economic Development Corporation will bring even more awareness and future growth to the Market which we’re so grateful for. The Market LHTX isn’t just about shopping, it's about community and I’m so happy to be a part of it.”
